Environmental management, as practiced by Toshiba Group, has two aspects: firstly, contributing to sustainable development of the Earth based on the creation of new values through products and, secondly, pursuing symbiosis with the Earth by reducing environmental impacts throughout business processes and products.
This concept informs the environmental philosophy of Toshiba Semiconductor Group. Its focus is also to contribute to the protection of global environment by doing its part to build an environmentally sustainable society, which is being pursued by minimizing environmental impacts from production and creating new values through products.

— Vision —

As a member of Toshiba Semiconductor Group, Toshiba LSI Package Solutions Corporation (TPACS) aims to be in line with Toshiba Group’s recognition that the Earth is an irreplaceable asset and that it is humankind’s duty to hand it on to future generations in a sound state. — Basic Environmental Policy —

The headquarters and Fukuoka Works are located in Miyawaka, a city rich in greenery history, which sits between two government-designated cities, Fukuoka and Kita-Kyushu, that enjoy special administrative rights. The Kitsuki Works, the semiconductor assembly facilities, are situated in a town that is lush in foliage and blessed with cultural and historic environments. TPACS strives to conduct all business activities in harmony with the natural environment and is determined to be an environmentally-friendly company by leveraging its advanced manufacturing and eco-management technologies.

1. Law Compliance and Eco-Sustainability

   1)	1. TPACS complies with all laws and regulations, industry guidelines it has endorsed, and its own standards concerning the environment.
   2)	2. TPACS considers environmental stewardship to be one of management’s primary responsibilities and strives to continuously improve environmental management through internal audits and reviews of activities.

2. Execution

   TPACS assesses the environmental aspects of all its business activities and specifies objectives and targets with respect to the reduction of environmental impacts and prevention of pollution.

   1)	TPACS strives to save energy, especially at power-supplying and manufacturing facilities, to help prevent global warming.
   2)	TPACS strives to make effective use of natural resources by improving productivity, reducing waste disposal, curtailing use of water resources and so on in order to promote the establishment of a recycling society.
   3)	TPACS strives to reduce use of hazardous chemicals and seek environmentally-friendly substitutes to minimize environmental impacts.
   4)	TPACS promotes “green” procurement to provide environmentally-friendly products and services.
   5)	TPACS holds and participates in public events designed to raise awareness about the environment, takes part in volunteer cleaning activities, accepts factory tours and so on in order to contribute to local communities.
   6)	TPACS familiarizes all its employees and those working for us with the concepts of the environmental protection policy to enhance their awareness and understanding.
   7)	For the purpose of environmental protection, TPACS acts in unison with other members of Toshiba Group, publishes environmental reports, assists suppliers and customers, and cooperates with local communities.
